Client Service Accountant/Bookkeeper - Bay City, Owosso, Saginaw
Location: Bay City, Owosso, Saginaw
We are seeking an individual to join our team of accountants to provide various bookkeeping and financial accounting services to our clients in various industries. Experience in financial statements, payroll, monthly reports, quarterly payroll tax returns, and journal entries, using QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online or other financial software. Customer service and strong communication skills are important, along with exceptional bookkeeping abilities.
Provide assistance with clients’ bookkeeping using QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.
Process payroll and payroll tax returns (annual, quarterly, monthly).
Compile financial statements and other financial information from client data.
Prepare quarterly and monthly reports.
Utilize journal entry bookkeeping in clients' accounts.
Effectively use Adobe, Excel, Word, and other financial software programs.
Assist with client communications.
Pro-actively champion an attitude of quality service.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business-related field is preferred.
3+ years of recent payroll, accounting, bookkeeping experience.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Adobe, Creative Solutions.
Knowledge of fundamental principles of accounting, financial statements and monthly reporting.
Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting, tax specialization preferred
At least three years of tax experience in public accounting
Organizes work schedule in a manner that ensures timely and priority-sensitive services to clients
The human resource generalist performs duties and responsibilities in various areas in the HR Department including employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS data management, recruitment and onboarding processes, performance evaluation process, legal and regulatory compliance.
Liaison with employees concerning benefits including healthcare, HSA, COBRA, short and long-term disability, FMLA, 401(k), supplemental insurance, and employee assistance programs
Leverage HR resource sites to stay current and up-to-date on legal and governmental policies and regulations
Manage the HR/Benefits side of HRIS software
Coordinate campus recruitment activities at colleges/universities throughout Michigan
Research and assist with updating policies and procedures in employee manual
Create and maintain employee files and performance records
Design presentations for new hire orientations, college classroom presentations, and internal trainings
Create, customize, and conduct onboarding and new hire orientation sessions
Complete benefit and salary surveys
Manage Form I-9 process-document storage and retention
Coordinate firm-wide projects, as directed
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources preferred
4+ years of experience in Human Resources Assistant or Generalist role
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
High ethical and integrity standards in a confidential environment
Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills
Exhibits an understanding of human resources and employee relations principles
Strong project management and organizational skills
